Fernandes set to sign

International: Fernandes has 33 Swiss caps
Swiss midfielder Gelson Fernandes is set to become Sven Goran Eriksson's tenth signing of the summer and will be unveiled as a Leicester City player at the King Power Stadium tomorrow.

Fernandes, 24, previously played for Eriksson during the Swede's tenure at Manchester City and was very much a favourite of the former England boss. Now, Eriksson is looking to strengthen his midfield and has turned to St Etienne player, out of favour at the French club.

With Michael Ball also set to sign his contract in the next 24 hours, the Foxes will have a strong squad to face Real Madrid at a sold-out King Power Stadium tomorrow evening. However, rumours are strongly suggesting that Eriksson has one further trick up his sleeve and that he will unveil a twelfth star signing before kick-off.

"We want two players for every position and we have that with defenders and midfielders now," said Eriksson, "We hope to get the same for the strikers, so we hope one or two more will come in."

"I hope we are close," he added, "There are different targets, but I hope that something will happen."
