Eriksson nets Johnson on loan

Reports have strongly signalled that Sven Goran Eriksson has made his ninth signing of the summer, negotiating a deal to take Michael Johnson on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.

Eriksson worked with the 23-year-old midfielder during his time with the Citizens and he will add valuable Premier League experience to an already strong midfield set-up that includes Andy King amongst its younger stars.

A graduate of the Everton academy, Johnson signed his first professional contract at the City of Manchester Stadium and has made 37 appearances for Manchester City, scoring twice. He was linked for a move to a Championship club earlier in the summer but it seems almost certain now that Eriksson's ties with the Eastlands club have assured that Leicester will be successful in their bid to net Johnson.
