Ball and Tunchev to be offered contracts

Out-of-contract Aleksander Tunchev and trailist Michael Ball are both set to be offered contracts at the King Power Stadium, following the pair's impressive displays in pre-season.

Both Ball, 31, and Tunchev, 30, have done enough to impress Sven Goran Eriksson, who confirmed to Of Fosse and Foxes in Austria that the pair are likely to sign. Those deals now seem to be even closer after both players completed ninety minutes against Kettering Town last night.

Against the Poppies Tunchev stood as a commanding presence at centre half alongside Sean St Ledger, whilst Ball impressed in midfield before he stood-in at left-back after Bruno Berner was replaced at half time.

Tunchev has been with the Foxes for nearly three years but only played a significant run of games in his first six months at the then Walkers Stadium, falling foul to successive knee injuries that saw him on the physio's table for eighteen months. Ball, meanwhile, has been without a club for two years after he was released by Manchester City in 2009.
