Bristol reject second Maynard bid

Bristol City have rejected a second bid from an 'unnamed' club for striker Nicky Maynard.

A statement on the club's website said that the offer was from "the same club who tabled a bid two weeks ago, which was also rejected".

That detail, that the offer is from the same club as previously, almost certainly confirms that it is Leicester City whose bid has been rejected for a second time, with sources close to the club hinting as such on Twitter.

"Once again we have made clear our position," said Robins' chairman Colin Sexstone, "We do not wish to sell Nicky, especially to a rival club in our division. Talks continue with Nicky and his representatives with regards to a new contract."

The Foxes have made no comment.
