Foxes snare United midfielder Drinkwater

New Fox: Danny Drinkwater
Leicester City look certain to have completed their first transfer deal of the January transfer window with the capture of promising Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater for an undisclosed fee.

According to Sky Sports, the 21-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the King Power Stadium having ended his loan deal at Barnsley early.

Drinkwater is said to have impressed Foxes' boss Nigel Pearson with his display for the Tykes against Leicester. He was involved in the creation of both goals as City went down to a 1-2 home defeat and will provide useful cover for the injured Andy King, who was last night ruled out for the season with an Achilles injury.

Drinkwater will go straight into the Foxes' squad to face Southampton at St Mary's on Monday night.
