• City were found out against a better team. Saturday's exemplary performance may be but a memory following defeat at the Valley but the two performances must be compared. Leicester were never asked questions by the Peterborough attack as they were against Charlton, where the two Addicks' front men dominated first half. Charlton's game plan was masterful, Chris Powell utilising all his insider knowledge to effectively reduce his former mentor's tactics to null. Only the depth of quality in the away side's squad saw Charlton under the cosh in the second half.
• It was always going to be a struggle. For the third time in a week, Nigel Pearson elected to pick the same starting XI. Early-on in the game there seemed a certain fatigue in City's play but any thoughts that this season will pan out as the last were rubbished in the second period. That Leicester City grit is back - unfortunately, the finishing quality is not yet there to match it.

Winners
Andy King
The boy is back! Andy King has scored two in two and, remarkably, came off the bench on both occasions. Lest we forget, King was City's top scorer two seasons ago and injury put paid to his involvement last term so it should hardly be unexpected that the Welsh international be back amongst the goals. On this - and his last - performance as substitute, the hard-working, goal-scoring King must be in contention to start on Saturday. It's good to see him back on form.

Yann Kermorgant

An almost inevitable goal came in this, Yann Kermorgant's first appearance against Leicester City and his first game against Nigel Pearson, the man Kermorgant surely saw vacate his seat at the then-Walkers Stadium after the Frenchman missed That Penalty in Cardiff. Following the that error, the Foxes were condemned to another season of Championship mediocrity and Pearson was ousted by then-Chairman Milan Mandaric as he sought to lure the Thai's investment to the club. Meanwhile Kermorgant left England for a year of exile on loan in France, before Powell snapped him up to join his resurgent Addicks last season. How fitting for Kermorgant, then, to score against Leicester at the first time of asking, to underline his name in the list of men that City fans will never invite to dinner.

Anthony Knockaert
This was another bright performance from the bench, promising more to come in the future from the young Frenchman.

Losers

Lloyd Dyer

Given the chance to score or given the chance to put in a good ball, Lloyd Dyer just couldn't finish whatever move he started this evening. At 2-1 down and cleanly through on goal, all was set for Dyer to send the travelling support into raptures but instead the quick winger dallied on the ball and the move came to nought. What Dyer possesses in pace off the ball he loses on it, indecision all to often seeing him mugged of the ball.

Jamie Vardy
Echoing the problems of Dyer, Jamie Vardy could do everything but get on the score sheet at the Valley. The £1 million man from Fleetwood Town needs a league goal to settle his nerves in the second tier, and that elusive league goal will surely come - but when?

Jermaine Beckford
Surprisingly left-out for the second half, Jermaine Beckford was sacrificed for the more measured approach of David Nugent at half time. Beckford was far from poor this evening - he has been far from poor this season to date, doing everything but opening his goal scoring account in the Foxes' first three games.
